How it Works

Radon Gas (as well as other potentially harmful soil gases) flows upward, out of the earth following the path of least resistance.

When this radioactive gas "hits" the EmeSeal floor liner, it begins to build up pressure. Instead of simply trying to "seal out" this pressurized gas (something very difficult, that others try to do) the EmeSeal Systems' radon gas dispersing drain fabric allows the gas to flow beneath the floor liner to the radon gas ventilation pipe, which surrounds the perimeter of the crawlspace. Then the gas is passively vented to the outside through the radon gas ventilation pipe, relieving the built-up pressure beneath the floor liner.

This ventilation system combined with our exclusive moldable roll adhesive and permanent seaming tape makes the task of "sealing out" harmful soil gases a reality.
