About Us
Louis F. Cole, the founder of Emecole Inc. launched the company
in 1987. Lou has Masters’ degrees in organic chemistry,
polymer engineering, and business administration. His experience
in epoxy and urethane technology began in 1964 when he joined
Union Carbide’s Research & Development group. He
has been involved in this technology since then.
Lou was very interested in concrete repair before starting
Emecole Inc. He set out to develop a more affordable, improved
method of foundation repair. He came up with the concept of
dual-cartridge dispensing of two-component materials, using
a spring-assisted dispensing tool similar to a caulking gun.
The application that seemed to show the most promise for his
dual-cartridge system was low-pressure injection repair of
cracks in concrete. That gave him the impetus to develop a
line of epoxies and polyurethane
foams specifically formulated for those types of crack
repairs. He also has been granted 10 patents in the delivery
and dispensing systems developed to effectively process
these epoxies and urethanes.
Our customers are primarily residential waterproofing
contractors, having less than a 1% callback rate for crack
repair work. “More than 99% of the time, crack injection
will fix the problem,” says Cole. Most contractors warranty
the injection repair up to the life of the structure, he adds.
Today, we offer a broad line of epoxies, polyurethanes, and
polyureas designed to meet the needs of concrete repair in
general, while maintaining our emphasis on concrete crack
repair. Our office staff consists of personnel committed to
assisting new, existing, and potential clients in an effective
and timely manner.
Our technical and plant personnel are committed to the development
and manufacturing of products which are user friendly and
safe not only to our clients and employees but to the environment
in general. Our products are VOC free and the plant keeps
the usage of any volatile solvents to an absolute minimum.
